Our school was founded by the presidential decree 133/24-7-85 under the name “19th elementary school of Chania”. It has been temporarily housed in the building of “15th elementary school”. On September 1st, 1985 the first teachers who were appointed there, were Mr. Ioannis Loupakis, Mr. Stellios Maniatakis and Mr. Stylianoudakis Nikos. Mr. Ioannis Loupakis was the first headmaster of the school. According to he school's life book during the school year 1985-86, 147 students were registered and therefore they were distributed to the two co-hosted schools. Later the number of the students attending the school gradually increased. This fact led the school to function as a multi-graded school. As a matter of fact, in 1995 the school was upgraded to a twelve-class school. During the school year 1996-97 the number of students attending our school was 197, which has been the highest record of the school. Since then, this number has been gradually declining, as a result of its morning and evening shift, which causes many problems both to parents and students. Today 158 students attend our school, being distributed to 11 classrooms of 6 grades. Additionally to the 11 teachers of general education there is an English language teacher, a Musician, a Physical educator and a teacher for mild disabilities. Altogether with the headmaster of the school, they comprise the faculty of the school.
