A visual phenomenon which can be observed at the seacoast of Fragokastelo plain (at Sfakia), during the hot days of late May and early June, just before the sunrise. Shadows then appear on the horizon that seem as if they are walking towards the sea. The shadows are dissolved when light wind blows. Scientists interpret this phenomenon as an example of upper reflection, which displays images from Libya.
